After securing his first win for Team Garrett, Robert "The pain train" Deason rode to a strong first place in the Hamar Tour. Super domestiqe Percy Trahen rode with him to the finish but was unable to hold the wheel of his team leader inside of the final kilometer. Team Garrett put in another strong performance overall placing 4 riders inside the top 5 with a 5th rider inside the top ten. Deason was quoted as saying "I am grateful for my team for the opportunity and I look forward to more races in the future." Percy Trahen made the comment, "I lead robert until the peloton started to splinter and we just kept the hammer down until I couldn't go any further." Team Garrett lined out the peloton at the start of the final climb and one by one the big guns of Team Garrett started to tire. First was Albert Rice who eventually rode his way into 7th, Efrain Padfield followed with a crisp pull at the front and the damage started to show. When Emerson "The Big Hurt" Hurtfield hit the front there was little left of the remnants of the group and his pull looked more like a victory lap than a race. He said, "When I popped and Trahen took the lead I knew no one would catch those two." I would like to have won the sprint for third and completed the podium sweep, but it is good to get a team victory either way!"
